Wedding Candy Buffet
Friday, May 11th, 2007HEADLINE: Wedding Candy Buffet Choices Now Easy to Find at CandyWarehouse.com
Summary: Wedding candy buffets are wildly popular for creating the wow factor as a display and also as wedding favor candy for guests. The secret to a dazzling display is coordinating colors and following a theme. Candy Warehouse supplies candy in bulk quantities and now has categories easily organized by colors along with theme or occasions to make selection simple.
Irwindale, CA May 11, 2007: The wedding candy buffet is a hot trend these days as spectacular displays can be built without breaking the budget and guests love them as candy wedding favors. Brides are creating either towers of sweets at a central table or creative displays right at the guests’ tables. And for wedding favors, how can you go wrong? There is no need to obsess over what your guests might like or worrying about a cheap looking gift. Candy brings back those carefree fairytale memories of everyone’s childhood and not only puts guests in a great mood, they eagerly gobble it up or scoop it into their little bags to bring home.
Candy buffets add fun and color to any wedding. All it takes is a table with some old fashioned glass candy jars, scoops, and bulk candy to coordinate with your color scheme. More creatively, your candy can match a theme like the Wonka Factory, Vegas casino night, summer carnival, sports, nostalgic, nature lover, Candyland, etc. CandyWarehouse.com has Candy by Occasion categories to make finding just the right items to support your beach or other special theme. Guests will quickly figure out what to do once they spot a stack of candy bags and scoops in large candy jars. No instructions required!
The secret to memorable presentation is to treat the candy as a display for its aesthetics and not like food…. somewhat like having an ice sculpture versus just a block of ice. Find large clear vases and jars of various sizes and shapes. Then use medium sized boxes and other support platforms with a loose drape over them to create a variety of heights and some texture for your display. To help in matching candy to your color scheme, CandyWarehouse.com has created a Shop by Candy Colors category on their bulk candy website. Filling the vases with solid colors can be very dramatic and finding a few fun, high impact items such as swirly lollipops can add a nice touch along with accessorizing with a few flowers.
Along a similar vein, candy offered up in extra large cocktail glasses can act as colorful centerpieces for wedding reception tables.
“At my personal wedding, three separate glasses contained three types of candy, one chocolate, one gummy, and one colorful chewy delight,” says Christopher Pratt, President of CandyWarehouse.com. “Each guest received an organza bag and a chart of the candy at each table in the reception room,” he continued. That’s right, three different candies at each table, at a total of 12 dinner tables…. 48 different candies to choose from! Guests could then search for their favorite sweets using their candy chart. “It was a great way for guests to mingle as they scooped their candy favorites into their organza bag,” remembers Christopher. A typical assortment at a table might include Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Purple Sour Balls, and German Gummi Bears. So delish! So if you are currently planning for your wedding or know someone who is, tell them about wedding candy buffets and how they can add a memorable touch to the arrangements and be something the guests will really enjoy. Plus finding all the perfect colors and novelty candy to support your theme can be easy by shopping the wide variety of fresh candy available online and organized in convenient categories.About Candy Warehouse

Decorating with Sweets!
Thursday, January 25th, 2007Hosting a function and need some help with the decorations? Don’t fret! You have all you need right at your fingertips. Whatever the gala event; decorate with candy. It doesn’t matter how formal or laid back the function is, you can use candy to decorate the entire affair. Whether it is a formal sit-down dinner after a wedding or a Kindergartener’s room party at school, candy gets the job done.
If you are the room mom for your Kindergartener, and it is his or her party day, use specialized candies for treats and decorating. No matter what the party theme is you can find candy delicacies for any holiday. Take St. Patrick’s Day for instance. You can buy specialized candy treats like chocolate shamrocks, green Hershey Kisses, or gourmet lollipops with Happy St. Patrick’s Day on them. You can get shamrock mints or green rock candy. Maybe you want to give the kids their own little treasure chest of chocolate gold coins. It is all available. So don’t be afraid to host that holiday class party.
Maybe you are hosting a tea for a departing missionary. Tea and sweets were born to be taken together. But, it doesn’t have to be fancy or difficult. Buy some large chocolate bars; divide them into strips along the lines imprinted in the chocolate then alternate milk, white, and dark chocolate strips in a radiating circle on a beautiful dessert plate. Served along with your tea sandwiches, it makes a lovely accent, not to mention how tasty it will be. It looks gorgeous and all you had to do was buy some candy bars.
If your event is more formal such as a wedding reception, Jordan Almonds have long been a staple for both favors and decorating the tables. But, Jordan Almonds have come a long way since the days of those pretty pastel pinks, greens, and whites. Now, look in fine stores or on-line locations for Jordan Almonds covered in dragees: that beautiful shiny gold or silver coating bakers use for accents on cookies and cakes. They are simply stunning and scream “FORMAL EVENT!”
Candy just seems to dress up any activity. Because there is a special aura surrounding candy that says, “If you are really good; and really special; you will get a really great treat.” It has always been this way with sweets. Let’s face it; they are the food group that goes the extra mile whether there is a celebration at hand or not.
Every holiday on the calendar can be made special with the use of candy. What would Halloween be without little dishes of candy corn placed in strategic locations around the house? Or Christmas without candy canes on the tree and sugar plums on the dinning table. Candy presents itself in dual roles: That of sweet treat and just-the-right decoration. So don’t worry about it. Think candy, and then think what color or flavor would you like to decorate with. You can be sure you will find it all in the candy department of your store. Oh! And don’t eat too many of the decorations before the big event begins.

Reminiscing with Retro Candy at CandyWarehouse.com
Thursday, December 7th, 2006There are many memories of our youthful days; playing in the park past sunset on a long summer day, sleepovers at our friend’s house, or how about the annual spelling bee. And for most of us there are so many more memories of the “good ole days.” Sometimes it is fun to sit back and just think about when life seemed so less hectic and there wasn’t a care in the world. I recently had a chance to reminisce a bit and what brought a smile to my face was thinking about heading down to the little candy store on the corner and picking out my favorites.
Modern day candy just doesn’t feel the same. There is something about old fashioned candy that makes me smile. Today’s candy is no match to the likes of: Teaberry gum, Necco wafers, Boston Baked Beans, root beer barrels, or Abba Zaba. Each one of these yummy candies brings about associations to different childhood memories. Since many of these candies are no longer sold in stores it got me thinking, what are some fun ways to celebrate these retro candy favorites?
One idea that came to mind was to order a bunch of old time candy from the internet and throw a party with a nostalgic theme. One approach could be to send out invitations that have a classic look to them encouraging guests to dress according to the decade they were born in. Then you can surprise them all by setting up appropriate decorations and music, but more importantly, creatively displaying some of the nostalgic candy you ordered. Not only does candy serve as a great decoration, but it is the perfect conversation piece. When guests notice some of the candies they haven’t had in years they will have to get a taste. Everyone is surely to have a story of their favorite childhood candy memory. Another way to celebrate with nostalgic candy is to send it as a gift. There are websites that sell nostalgic candy by itself or as a bunch that is neatly arranged into a gift box. What a great way to send a thank you to a friend or anyone else. Once I received a whole bunch of retro candy as a business gift. There were about fifteen different kinds of old fashioned candy that I hadn’t seen in years. The fun part was sampling each candy and reminiscing with my family about those times as a kid. Who wouldn’t love getting some of their old time favorites in the mail?A friend of mine used old fashioned candy at their kid’s birthday party and it was a hit! It makes sense; we love old time candy not just for the memories but because it tastes good too. Kids these days still get excited over gum cigarettes, circus peanuts, gold mine gum, or even rock candy. You could use nostalgic candy as a thank you gift to the party guests or create a game and hand out the candy as a prize. I have also heard of parents putting their old time favorite candies in their children’s stockings at Christmas. To their surprise, the kids loved it and said something like, “why don’t we have cool candy like this today?” There are a million ways to bring back some childhood favorites. Ever in the mood for some red hots? Or how about some of those candy buttons that come on the long strip of paper? No matter what your craving there is bound to be a childhood story to go along with the candy. And that’s the fun part. You are not just eating candy, but it is so much fun telling your friends, neighbors, or kids about your favorite candy when you were growing up. Try it; it will surely bring a smile to your face!Check out the nostalgic candy available at CandyWarehouse.com.
